Prof. Dr. Ahmet Koç graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Theology in 1983. Between 1984 and 1994, he held various positions in institutions affiliated with the Presidency of Religious Affairs. He completed his master's degree in 1993 with his thesis titled "Values in Necip Fazıl" and his doctorate in 1996 with his thesis titled "The Educational Philosophy of Ikhwan al-Safa" at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies (Religious Education). He became an Associate Professor in 2006 and a Professor in 2011. He worked at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Faculty of Theology from 1994 to 2012 and at Marmara University Faculty of Education and Faculty of Theology from 2012 to 2020. During this period, he served in commissions and projects related to his field at the Ministry of National Education and the Presidency of Religious Affairs. Within these activities, he participated in conferences and seminars in 81 provinces in the training of trainers programs. She has been working at the Faculty of Education, Istanbul 29 Mayis University since April 1, 2020.
He has various books, editions, articles, and papers on the formal and informal fields of religious education, primarily focusing on topics such as Religious Education in Islamic Thought, Religious Education in Turkey During the Republican Period, Religious Education in the Family and School, and Effective Communication in Religious Education.
