About the Department

The main purpose of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Undergraduate Program is to train psychological counselors who follow current developments in the field of psychological counseling and guidance, have research skills, have gained sufficient and ethical responsibility in their profession, can use information and communication technologies effectively, have high self-awareness, and could provide psychological counseling services in the field of preventive and developmental counseling in various institutions.

The Guidance and Psychological Counseling program aims to train psychological counselors who can solve student problems; regulate the relationships between teachers and students in educational institutions; train individuals who are competent in their field. In addition, the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department adopts the basic principles of field such as empathy, unconditional positive regard, and transparency; and brings an understanding that enables the clients to self-actualize themselves.

The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department includes theoretical and practical courses in the area of professional knowledge, field education and general knowledge. Language of instruction is Turkish. During the undergraduate period, it is possible to benefit from double major programs and optional English preparatory program.
